Manhattan Coffee Guide: Coffee Shops to try when you are stationed at Fort Riley

So you are stationed at Fort Riley and you’re looking for the best places to get a delicious cup of coffee, the perfect latte, or want to know the best cafes to set up shop and work for the day? I got you. Here is a full list of all the places you can do just that in the Manhattan area. Manhattan is the largest city that is closest to Fort Riley, and if you are living OFF post it is likely where you will live. There are also places like Junction City and Ogden, but I personally lived in Manhattan so it is the area I know best! If you are living ON post, Manhattan is still the place you will likely frequent the most, you’ll find it is where most things are happening and located. Let’s get into it!

Flight Crew Coffee

I absolutely LOVE this coffee shop because it is aviation themed (hello to all the other pilot wives reading this!!) I just love a good themed shop, okay. From the names of the drinks to the uniform the baristas (or should I say flight attendants) wear, this coffee shop is all about aviation! It is located in downtown Manhattan on Poyntz Avenue. They have a drink called the NOSE DIVE which includes 6 shots of espresso if you’re a maniac… I’ve personally never tried it. I have usually ordered one of their seasonal iced lattes (with an extra shot ofcourse) or the Orville and I have never been disappointed. This would definitely be a great cafe to get some work done in, read a book, or meet a friend.

Arrow Coffee Co.

Arrow Coffee is a smaller coffee shop located near the Kansas State campus that packs a punch. Their drinks and food are SO good. I come here often and order the same thing every single time! The Sugar Baby Late is to die for. They have indoor and outdoor seating, it is minimal but if you are there at the right time it isn’t usually very crowded. They have a delicious breakfast burrito as wel!

  • My Drink: Sugar Baby Latte, Iced

  • Food: Breakfast burrito

Bluestem Bistro

Bluestem Bistro is a local hot spot for a reason! It is located in “Aggieville” (a very popular area of Manhattan) and offers both an outdoor patio to sit at, and indoor seating. You can even reserve a full room there for meetings. They have a lot more than just coffee. They offer a full menu from sandwiches, breakfast items, lunch, and brunch. We go there for breakfast dates a lot!

  • My Drink: BBL Latte, Iced

  • Food: Cinnamon Roll

Radina’s

Radina’s is a popular spot with multiple locations in Manhattan. They have a drive thru at all of their locations and lots of indoor seating. They have the best breakfast burritos!! I usually try one of their seasonal iced lattes they have on special paired with a breakfast burrito.

  • My Drink: any seasonal iced latte

  • Food: Breakfast Burrito
