SEOUL in the FALL!

This fall day trip to Seoul was in the northwest area of Seoul near the Olympic Stadium.

How to get there:

Driving: You can drive to Seoul if you are ready to deal with some of the traffic. If you are a military member you can get onto the Yongsan base and park at the Dragon Hill Lodge, then walk out of the pedestrian gate to start your day in Seoul. The first subway is only about a 10 minute walk from where you can park.

Train: you can take a bus or taxi to the Pyeongtaek Station (AK PLAZA) (20 min from base) and buy a ticket that will be about a 50 min train ride to Seoul Station. Use the Naver App, load up your T-Money card and you will not have any issues.

The perfect fall day in Seoul!

Olympic Stadium

Our first stop was at the Seoul Olympic Stadium also known as Jamsil Olympic Stadium or Seoul Sports Complex. We actually were trying to go to the Olympic Park but there was a lot to see around this area. We didn’t go inside the stadium, i’m not sure if you can, it was totally empty on the day we went so we just ventured around.

Walking around

Korea is absolutely the most beautiful place to walk around during the fall. There were so many beautiful piles of leaves all around and we spent a lot of our day just taking that in. We stopped at Starbucks so I could buy a gorgeous tumbler (watch the vlog to see!) and then we walked all the way to our next location which was to get FOOD! We found an amazing Thai place that I would highly recommend if you are in this area of Seoul.

Golden Thai

Finding great Thai food in Korea might be a trend for us, hah! We also found a hidden gem like this in Daegu! Golden Thai is definitely a place I would recommend checking out if you are around this area of Seoul. I got a Thai iced tea which i’d never had before and I can’t wait to get another one, it tasted like a sweet, milky, tea.

Olympic Park

Next we walked to Olympic Park which is a really big area in the heart of this part of Seoul. At the time we went, there was a very popular attraction in the middle of the park. There was a giant statute of the girl from Squid Games and there were so many people taking pictures in front of it. There were all kinds of vendors in a farmers market on the way out of the park as well as coffee shops and stuff around the park.

Seoulism Cafe

The last thing we did before the long journey home was one from my bucketlist. This iconic cafe was worth it because the view is unbeatable. This cafe has a really cool rooftop with the perfect photo opportunity and the drinks were great too. It was a little bit hard to find, but once we found the door and elevator, we were good to go and it was clearly marked on the elevator. You’ll go up to the top floor to find the cafe.
